Quick Tips To Improve Your Makeup

Makeup should never be a chore. The average woman should be able to apply their make up in five minutes or less unless you're looking for a special or dramatic look for a special event or night out.

While you may play up the eye shadow, the rest of your make up should appear natural and flawless. This is easy to achieve with the simple rules of makeup application.

Before you even think of applying your make up, wash your face. Washing your face will smooth out the skin surface, getting rid of dead skin cells and other contaminants so you won't clog your pores. It will also tighten your skin, shrink your pores and give you a better surface to apply your make up. So take a minute to quickly wash your face before you do anything else. Even if you wash your make up off at night before bed, do it again before applying fresh makeup.

Applying your eyeshadow before your foundation will help reduce the mess if you spill some.  Powder eyeshadow especially has a tendency to brush onto the skin beneath the eyes. Putting your eyeshadow on the first means you don't have to be so meticulous about avoiding spills since you can simply use a washcloth to remove any residue before applying foundation.

Your foundation should be as close to your natural skin tone as possible. Make sure it goes all the way up to your hairline and down to your jawline. For some reason, women tend to miss the area at the temples, so make sure to put some foundation there. Use a makeup wedge to quickly blend the foundation along the hair, jaw, and necklines to avoid two-tone skin. Your foundation should blend smoothly with your natural skin tone.

If you don't use color anywhere else, use some on your cheeks. It doesn't have to be hot pink, but a little blush will brighten up your face and give you the fresh from outdoors look, even if you spend all day in the office. It also adds a form to your face, defines your cheekbones and makes you look more vibrant

Makeup doesn't have to be an hour-long application. In fact, spending too much time on your make up will often leave you looking overdone. Quick and simple is the most natural way to go, by using your make up to enhance the beautiful face you already have.
